Feeding the 5,000
You are invited to a free lunch made entirely out of fresh ingredients that would otherwise go to waste.
First come first served!
Feeding the 5000 is organised by freegan Tristam Stuart. It will show how easy it is to reduce food waste in the UK and internationally and how governments, businesses and individuals can help.
There will be live cooking demonstrations by TV chefs Thomasina Miers and Arthur Potts Dawson, an apple press which you can use to make yourself a glass of fresh apple juice, and even an enclosure of pigs, who will also be given a free lunch of the surplus food that’s not fit too eat.
Speakers include Mayor of London Boris Johnson and chair of the London food board, journalist Rosie Boycott.
Feeding the 5,000 will take place in London’s Trafalgar Square on 18 November, 12pm-2pm
Stay tuned for more info and a blogpost about how it went. If you’re planning to go along, let us know!
